CHARACTER SKETCH OF BETHANY HAMILTON
Ø Bethany Hamilton is a professional surfer, motivational speaker and
writer.
Ø She lost her arm in a shark attack when she was just 13 years old.
Ø In spite of the tragedy, she learned to surf again with one arm.
Ø Her life is a powerful example of a woman’s ability to adjust,
adapt, and succeed in the face of adversity.
Ø Just a month after the attack, she was back in the water and within
two years she won her first national surfing title.
Ø Bethany has a strong spirit and a deep faith that helped her
overcome the challenges.
Ø Her positive attitude and dedication have inspired the whole world

Ø Neerja Bhanot, a 22-year-old flight attendant, was a true hero on
Pan Am flight 73.
Ø During a hijack in 1986, she into action, helping passengers escape
through emergency exits. She couldn’t save herself, but she prioritized others.
Ø Neerja shielded passengers, especially children, with her own body
as the hijackers opened fire.
Ø Despite the chaos, she stayed calm and saved passengers were
evacuated safely.

THE INK AND THE MELODY
